Position Summary
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activities, including processing and monitoring purchase orders, maintaining vendor information, coordinating material requirements, and working closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
** Location: ** Tampa (In person)
** Pay: ** $24-28/hr.
** Schedule: ** Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Key Responsibilities
- Create, issue, and monitor purchase orders from placement through delivery
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, lead times, order updates, and delivery timelines
- Maintain organized and accurate purchasing records and supplier information
- Monitor inventory requirements and initiate reorders as needed
- Investigate and resolve purchasing discrepancies, shipping concerns, and invoice issues
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and administrative teams to meet daily material and operational requirements
- Enter and maintain purchasing data within company systems
- Perform general administrative duties, including filing, recordkeeping, and document management
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience , preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with pipes, valves, and fittings (PVF) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office , including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- ** QuickBooks purchasing experience is required **
