Maintenance Technician

About the Role Allegion Steelcraft is hiring a 3rd shift Industrial Technician for our Frames or Doors value streams. The technician will support routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment, facilities, and systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with specifications. Responsibilities Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties, effect repairs and adjustments to keep machines in production, and perform permanent repairs when required. Assist in rebuilding machines and overhauling troublesome components and attachments. Fit and align bearings, spindles, and shafts; adjust feeding and limit mechanisms, gibs, and ways. Assist with the installation, relocation, dismantling, erection, leveling, fitting, and aligning of new and existing equipment. Serve as a project leader, determining materials and resources needed to complete tasks. Check the work of subordinate technicians and helpers. Qualifications General knowledge of mechanics, machine design, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to work from machine design drawings, specifications, and handbook formulas. Proficiency in using and reading precision instruments. Knowledge of welding techniques including arc, gas, and MIG. Baseline electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills. Willingness to complete a respirator fit test and CPR/First Aid training.
