Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care for obstetric patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergent situations
- Monitor fetal and maternal status; assess amniotic fluid status and vaginal bleeding; recognize and manage perinatal emergencies (such as rapid delivery or shoulder dystocia)
- Circulate for cesarean deliveries and assist with epidural catheter placement; monitor status during catheter placement and after medication administration
- Educate patients and families across all stages of perinatal and postpartum care; tailor teaching to age, condition, culture, and learning readiness
- Develop and implement multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans; document care legibly, accurately, and timely
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff within their scope of practice; maintain competency in the LDRP model and use of electronic medical record systems

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required
- Additional required: AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS; AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS; AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to work within an LDRP model and participate in a transition from day shift to night shift during internal moves
- Night shift hours typically 19:00–07:30; able to meet the assignment’s guaranteed hours
