Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join a growing legal team in Newark, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience handling complex business disputes and the ability to independently manage cases from inception through resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Handle a broad range of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, partnership disputes, shareholder disputes, business torts, and other complex commercial matters
Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents
Develop litigation strategies and advise clients regarding legal risks and dispute resolution options
Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and court personnel
Maintain accurate case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements
Provide timely reporting and practical legal guidance to clients throughout the litigation process
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active New Jersey Bar license in good standing
3+ years of commercial litigation experience preferred
Strong knowledge of New Jersey civil litigation procedures
Experience handling complex business disputes and motion practice
Excellent analytical, legal writing, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to independently manage multiple litigation matters and deadlines
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
