Cost Accountant (Manufacturing)

A leading provider of innovative packaging solutions in the Los Angeles, California area is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join its finance team. This full-time, in-office role is responsible for managing cost accounting functions and supporting financial operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: Oversee cost accounting processes, including COGS, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation. Develop cost estimates for new and existing products, covering materials, labor, and overhead. Track production costs and identify variances or inefficiencies. Handle month-end and year-end close activities related to cost accounting. Collaborate with operations teams to analyze cost drivers and improve decision-making. Assist in developing standard costs and maintaining accurate BOMs and routings. Provide cost analysis to support budgeting and forecasting. Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred). 5+ years of accounting experience with a focus on manufacturing or cost accounting. Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles. Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks. Advanced Excel skills and experience analyzing financial data. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines accurately. Hours: Full-time, in-office only. DOE (depending on experience).
