Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Critical Care Unit position requiring 2 years of neuro critical care experience and an active MD or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Neuro Critical Care Unit (NCCU) of a hospital environment
• Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-op neurosurgical needs, as well as nerve and muscle diseases
• Requires interfacing between neurological function and other vital organ systems
• Uses Epic EMR
• Rotating 7A/7P shifts, working 12-hour shifts totaling 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend requirement of 3 out of every 6 weekends
• On-call requirement of 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating required to areas of like skill set such as ICU or IMC

Requirements

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS, Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Neuro Critical Care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Comparable facility size experience required (500+ bed facility experience for this assignment)

Additional Information

• Provide specialized post-operative neurosurgical care to neurologically complex patients
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Strong candidates preferred given the complexity and prestige of this main hospital assignment
