B2B Collections Specialist

Collections SpecialistAs a Collections Specialist, you will manage Accounts Receivable (AR) Aging reports for various locations and subsidiaries. You will also handle escalated accounts and invoices from branches requiring advanced collection efforts. Your primary tasks will involve direct communication with customers through calls and emails to ensure successful collection of outstanding debts.ResponsibilitiesManage AR Aging reports for assigned locations and subsidiaries.Handle escalated accounts and invoices requiring higher-level collection.Prepare collection letters and request attorney involvement as needed.Recommend accounts for third-party collection or write-off.Communicate with the Collections Manager regarding the status of past due accounts.Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies.Maintain detailed notes on accounts to document collection efforts.Work on returned statements to collect outstanding debt and update ERP systems.Ensure the security and privacy of customer information.Perform additional related duties as assigned.Make 30-35 calls per day.Essential SkillsAt least two years of experience in collection and credit work.Strong customer service focus.Experience in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in using CRM and ERP software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Basic understanding of statistics and data analysis.Knowledge of applicable state and federal collection laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.Proficiency in typing.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's or associate's degree preferred.Experience with Profit Zoom and Sedona software is a plus.Experience with Microsoft Dynamics for cross-training purposes.Work EnvironmentThis position is fully remote, with working hours starting between 8-9 AM for an 8-hour shift, including an unpaid lunch.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
