Agency Laurel Ridge Community College. Division Laurel Ridge Community College. Work Location Fauquier – 061. Work Schedule Monday‑Friday day shift hours. Evening hours are based on student and business needs. This part‑time position does not exceed 29 hours per week. Responsibilities This career coach will serve as the primary advising resource for high school students, guiding Uniform Certificate of General Studies (UCGS) pathways and initiating a Coordinated Care Network that aligns school staff, families, and Laurel Ridge Community College partners. The coach facilitates dual enrollment processes by coordinating registration, supporting college applications, ensuring completion of required documentation, and communicating consistently with students, families, and staff. Advises students on academic and career planning, including career assessments, postsecondary pathways, workforce entry, and participation in work‑based learning experiences. Maintains current knowledge of college programs, completes required training and reporting, and collaborates with school and college personnel to ensure effective dual enrollment implementation. This position will recruit for both Kettle Run High School and Liberty High School. WAGE Compensation The hourly pay rate is $22.50 per hour. The position is part‑time and does not exceed 29 hours per week. It is not eligible for health or leave benefits. Educational benefits may be offered through the professional development and educational assistance policies. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned and assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. Required Qualifications (KSA's) Experience utilizing oral and written communication skills in presentations and reports. Computer technology experience – Word, Excel, and other commonly used platforms. Proven subject matter knowledge, evidenced by training, experience, and/or credentials. Additional Considerations Experience administering and interpreting assessments. Experience conducting workshops for small groups. Demonstrated proficiency with computer software and ability to learn new software quickly. Demonstrated ability to work well with others. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Previous secondary school experience, preferably in a high school setting, or related professional experiences. Supervises Employees – No. Required Travel – As per any required duties of the position, such as to sites/campuses and any training, covering assignments throughout the college service region as necessary.
