HR Coordinator - Belmont Park

Pay Range: $23/hr and above. Location: Levy Restaurants at Belmont Park, Queens, NY. Description Reporting to the HR Director, this role supports various HR tasks across Concessions, Premium, Culinary, Accounting, and IT. Manage and audit confidential team member files, ensuring secure, accurate, and up-to-date records. Assist with document imaging, scanning, and filing. Ensure managers, supervisors, and union team members follow company policies and procedures. Support daily payroll processes: verify timesheets, enter tips, identify errors, and process adjustments. Assist with hiring and onboarding: present onboarding PowerPoint, complete paperwork, ensure compliance and tracking. Participate in daily check‑in processes for team members, volunteers, and temporary staff to enforce time‑keeping and uniform guidelines. Collaborate with HR team, department management, supervisors, and union delegates. Organize, coordinate and carry out HR projects under management direction; generate and interpret reports as needed. Be present on the floor during race days to monitor attendance and maintain an HR presence. Assist with credential and uniform distribution and laundering. Create and execute team member engagement and recognition initiatives. Promote and strengthen Levy culture and values; identify positive developments and celebrate them. Support employees and managers with day‑to‑day guidance on policies and procedures. Help managers and supervisors address team member concerns with guidance from HR management. Maintain knowledge of Levy handbook and union contract to advise management, supervisors, and union members. Skills and Qualifications Organized, efficient, and able to multi‑task. Strong time management in high‑volume situations. Proficient in data entry and Microsoft Office. Excellent verbal and written communication; strong collaboration and listening skills. Detail‑oriented and committed to high‑quality results. Able to meet deadlines and adjust workload to changing priorities. Positive and personable demeanor. Can handle stressful situations effectively. Willing to take initiative and work independently. Comfortable in a highly visible role. Professional integrity, confidentiality, and accountability. Reliable and enjoys collaborating with diverse individuals. Willingness to learn federal, local employment laws, payroll processes, and HRIS applications. Experience in Sports & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, or Hospitality industry preferred. Professional working proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
