Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-risk Labor and Delivery position requiring c-section circulating skills and prior charge nurse experience.

Details

• , within a hexperário averaging 2100 deliveries per year
• Unit accepts MFM outpatient transfer-ins with OB managing patient care
• Level 3 NICU available on-site; unit is not an LDRP model
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• No call requirements
• Floating required to Maternity/Mother-Baby, with occasional postpartum coverage using a Helping Hands/Team Nursing approach
• May be floated to ICU and ED for limited-assignment task-type duties or 1:1 patient sitting
• Will not be assigned patients outside clinical assignment or team scope
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• , Active RN license (NH state or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of L&D experience required, 3+ years preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Must be able to circulate for c-sections
• Prior travel nurse experience required; first-time travelers not considered
• Only AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted
• Drug screen must be completed within 14 days of start date

Additional Information

• , Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including high-risk deliveries, vaginal and c-section support, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring, cord sample collection, and infant identification/banding
• Provide newborn care including phototherapy, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching to parents
• Conduct antepartum care including NSTs, sterile vaginal exams, and fetal heart monitoring (EFM and internal monitoring)
• Support surgical procedures such as cervical cerclage, D&C, and tubal ligation
• Manage postpartum care for cesarean, multiple births, and hemorrhage cases
• Assist with pain management including epidural anesthesia and PCA
• Perform IUPC placement/calibration and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Unit orientation includes 24 hours total: one day of Healthstream training and up to two days of on-unit orientation
• Scrubs of any color permitted
• Candidates who were previously employed by the health system are not eligible for this position, regardless of separation length
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
