Role SummaryFree People is seeking a Social Media Associate with 2-3+ years of experience on a social media team developing social-first content from initial concept through execution. Reporting into the social team, this role owns a core channel content calendar, develops and produces original video concepts, and partners with creators and internal teams to deliver work that is culturally relevant and true to the brand.The ideal candidate pairs strong creative instincts with an analytical mindset. They understand how culture moves online, can translate that understanding into content strategy, and are equally effective in a planning meeting, on set, or in front of the camera. This role offers meaningful ownership and the opportunity to shape how Free People show up across social.This role is based in Philadelphia, PA.Role ResponsibilitiesContent Planning & Channel OwnershipOwn the planning, development, and execution of a core channel content calendar, ensuring a consistent and strategic cadence of contentManage campaign content in partnership with the broader social team, ensuring cross-functional stakeholders receive the assets and support they need on scheduleWrite clear, compelling copy that reflects the Free People brand voice across all touchpointsCreative Development & Video ProductionDevelop social-first content plans in advance of shoots, maximizing the value of limited time on set to capture engaging, entertaining contentLead creative ideation for social initiatives and present new concepts to the teamOversee the production of social video concepts from initial idea through final editCreate original content independently, including appearing on camera when the concept calls for itProvide on-site content coverage for travel and brand eventsCreator Partnerships & Cross-Functional CollaborationDevelop strategic creative briefs that guide creators in producing social-first content aligned with campaign goalsCollaborate with partnerships, co-op, and studio teams to bring social video concepts to lifeTrend Insight, Strategy & PerformanceIdentify and forecast emerging trends, applying both cultural awareness and analytical rigor to inform social strategyMeasure and report on content performance, translating insights into clear recommendations that shape future creativeRole Qualifications2-3+ years of brand/agency experience involving hands-on social media experience, with a demonstrated track record of concepting and producing social-first projects across various platformsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Media Production, or a related fieldExperience in the fashion, wellness, or lifestyle space is a plusProven ability to plan content strategically ahead of production and execute efficiently on setExperience developing creator briefs and managing collaborations with creators, partners, and production teamsExceptional copywriting skills and a strong understanding of brand voiceAdvanced video editing skills and a sharp eye for pacing, storytelling, and polishWorking knowledge of graphic design fundamentalsProficiency with social media scheduling, analytics, and project management toolsConfidence on camera and the interpersonal skills to engage others in content creationA nuanced understanding of social strategy, informed by both cultural fluency and data-driven insightStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentAvailability for occasional travel and event coverage#FreePeopleThe PerksURBN offers comprehensive Perks & Benefits to employees.
