Purchasing Supplier Manager
Join a global manufacturer in Northern Illinois as a Purchasing Supplier Manager where you will play a significant and strategic role in working with suppliers. To purchase the highest quality and most cost competitive materials and supplies and ensure that they are effectively delivered to the manufacturing and support teams.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic sourcing and negotiation with global suppliers
- Ensure purchased materials and supplies are effectively delivered to the manufacturing and support teams
- Select or assist in the selection of vendors who deliver the highest quality, low cost, on time service.
- Develop and foster partnerships with the vendor base.
- Facilitate vendor quality and capability improvements.
- Implement Lean and Six Sigma principles
- Occasional travel to supplier locations
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- 3-10 years related experience and/or training.
