We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our independent living community in the Kansas City Metro Area. This role will create an environment where residents feel connected, engaged, and truly at home.

The Executive Director will provide overall leadership for the community, overseeing daily operations while building a strong culture of hospitality, service, and resident satisfaction. This is a highly visible leadership position for someone who enjoys connecting with people, developing teams, solving problems, and turning ideas into action.

The ideal leader will be responsible for the overall success of the community, including resident engagement, team leadership, financial performance, operations, strategic planning, and community relations. The Executive Director will work closely with residents, families, staff, and organizational leadership to ensure a consistently exceptional living experience.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead day-to-day community operations with a strong focus on resident experience.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and create a vibrant, welcoming community culture.
• Recruit, mentor, motivate, and retain a high-performing team.
• Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and operational goals.
• Develop and implement strategies that support occupancy, growth, and long-term success.
• Partner with residents, families, and team members to address concerns and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Promote a culture of hospitality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Represent the community within the local area and build strong relationships with community partners.
• Ensure the community operates in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven leadership experience in senior living, preferably in independent living.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, hospitality, senior living, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational goals.
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to create a positive, engaging, and service-oriented community culture.
• Strong understanding of customer service and resident experience.
• Ability to build trust and meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
• Comfortable serving as a highly visible and approachable leader within the community.
• Passion for working with older adults and creating an exceptional living experience.
