Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 18 months of experience and an IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals for all travelers
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand prior to start date
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 18 months of recent experience required
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• 2 supervisor references required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, feeding tube care and management, Heparin administration, and respiratory support via High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and Nasal Cannula

Additional Information

• Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care including IV therapy, line management, and respiratory support
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved, with additional time requiring facility approval
• Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must be away for 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
