Director of Clinical Education - Physician Assistant Program

Position Overview Director of Clinical Education – Physician Assistant Program Oversee and manage the clinical education component of the PA program, ensuring high-quality training, accreditation compliance, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and evaluate the clinical curriculum. Collaborate with faculty, healthcare facilities, and preceptors to secure clinical placements that meet accreditation standards. Provide guidance and support to students during clinical rotations. Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement of the PA program. Coordinate the clinical education activities as a principal faculty member, including mission statement development, admissions, instruction, performance evaluation, counseling, and remedial instruction. Maintain documentation required for accreditation reviews, site visits, and annual reports. Recruit, develop, coordinate, maintain, and monitor clinical sites, experiences, and preceptors, ensuring they meet PAC/ARC-PA standards. Oversee and participate in site visits and end‑of‑rotation examinations. Support the alignment of clinical expectations with instructional content. Participate in student training and orientation sessions. Support admissions activities, including prospective student recruitment, evaluation, and selection. Maintain a collegial learning environment for faculty, staff, students, community partners, and stakeholders. Stay current with trends in PA education and clinical practice. Engage in professional development and contribute through scholarly activities, presentations, or publications. One release day per week for clinical practice or other approved activity. Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Associate Program Director, or Dean. Performance Expectations Effective communication skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback. Adaptability with self‑management, optimism, calmness, flexibility, collaboration, and self‑motivation. Job Requirements Minimum Master’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited university. Current NCCPA certification. Minimum of three years clinical experience as a PA. Annual Salary $120,000/year (Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications).
