Regulatory Specialist

Position Summary Through the Injured Patients and Families Compensation Fund (Fund), this position is responsible for ensuring that physicians and healthcare providers statewide comply with the medical malpractice insurance laws . This includes implementing noncompliance procedures against healthcare providers who have not complied with the insurance provisions of Chapter 655, Wisconsin Statute, including conducting investigations to determine status of provider insurance noncompliance, initiating the enforcement process, and developing procedures for monitoring provider noncompliance. Starting salary for the Regulatory Specialist will be between $27.00- $31.00 per hour , plus great benefits. This classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 07-04. A 12-month probationary period may be required. Due to the nature of the position, OCI will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. OCI does not sponsor visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas . All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form. This position has potential for remote work, requiring in the office one day per week after an initial training period has been completed. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process. Qualifications Minimally qualified candidates will have training, education, or experience in: Researching, reviewing, and analyzing information requested by external and/or internal customers. Creating and/or manipulating data in spreadsheets or databases such as Microsoft Office Excel, Access, or similar. Well-qualified candidates will have the following: Work experience working within the insurance, legal, or regulatory fields.
