Assistant Controller

THIS ROLE WILL BE ONSITE 5 DAYS PER WEEK. Our prestigious client is seeking a regular full-time Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will assist the Controller and Management staff with assistance with all financial-related tasks. Requirements Assist the Controller with financial statements. Audit weekly payroll. Daily summary of bank transactions and monthly bank account reconciliations. Oversee, monitor, and work to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and database management. Audits workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards. Assist in preparing budgets. Prepare journal entries, review invoices and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Assist the Controller with special projects as necessary. Manage monthly closing processes. Handles special projects as requested by the Controller. Direct financial statement and defined benefit plans audits. Prepare Federal and State tax filings. Education / Skills / Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 5+ years of accounting experience, including work in hotels, hospitality, membership clubs or sports facilities. Possesses exceptional organizational skills and is an effective time manager and multi-tasker. Attention to detail and problem-solving. Possesses strong leadership, supervisory and management abilities. Exhibits strong computer skills and knowledge of relevant technology. Displays vast knowledge of math and exceptional accounting skills. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
