Front Desk/Operations Associate – Desolation Hotel South Lake Tahoe

Responsibilities

As a Front Desk/Operations Associate, you’ll be at the heart of our hotel operations, ensuring every guest feels welcome and cared for. Your primary focus will be guest-facing duties at the front desk, where your warm demeanor and excellent customer service skills will shine. You’ll also assist with management reporting and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of our team.

In this role, you will:

• Greet guests warmly, efficiently check them in and out, and provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions.
• Address and resolve guest concerns and special requests promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Manage and update reservations using the hotel’s property management system.
• Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure room availability and readiness.
• Handle payment transactions, balance cash drawers, and prepare daily reports.
• Maintain a clean and organized front desk area while liaising with other departments to meet guest needs.
• Assist in compiling key operational metrics and reports to support management.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a team player who is organized, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 1 year of customer service experience (preferred).
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and office equipment.
• The ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism.

Physical Requirements and Scheduling

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 20 pounds.
• Work weekends and holidays as part of a flexible schedule.
• Commit to an average of 30 hours per week.
