Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist or Payroll Manager to manage and support end-to-end payroll operations across the United States and Canada. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Dayforce (Ceridian) and a strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian payroll regulations, tax requirements, statutory deductions, and year-end reporting.

This role requires a detail-oriented payroll professional who can ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain compliance across both countries, resolve payroll discrepancies, and collaborate with HR, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and process end-to-end payroll for employees across the United States and Canada.
• Utilize Dayforce/Ceridian for payroll processing, employee data management, reporting, and payroll administration.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Administer U.S. payroll requirements, including W-2 reporting, tax withholding, garnishments, and other statutory deductions.
• Manage Canadian payroll requirements, including T4 slips, Records of Employment (ROE), CPP, EI, and applicable provincial tax deductions.
• Reconcile payroll registers, payroll taxes, deductions, benefits, and general ledger entries.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and payment issues.
• Coordinate payroll audits, year-end activities, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee compensation information.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Benefits, and external payroll providers to improve payroll accuracy and efficiency.
• Support payroll system updates, process improvements, and implementation of best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in payroll processing, payroll administration, or payroll management.
• Hands-on experience with Dayforce or Ceridian payroll systems .
• Demonstrated experience processing payroll for employees in both the United States and Canada .
• Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations and Canadian payroll legislation.
• Experience with W-2s, T4s, payroll taxes, statutory deductions, and year-end payroll processing.
• Proficiency in payroll reconciliations, reporting, audits, and payroll troubleshooting.
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with HRIS or payroll management systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage strict payroll deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle confidential employee information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting payroll in a multi-state and multi-province environment.
• Experience with a large or multi-entity workforce.
• Payroll experience in manufacturing or other complex operational environments.
• Relevant payroll certifications, such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional).

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on payroll professional with direct experience processing U.S. and Canadian payroll using Dayforce/Ceridian . Candidates who have managed W-2 and T4 reporting, understand U.S. and Canadian statutory requirements, and can independently manage payroll operations will be prioritized.

Candidates with a Payroll Specialist, Senior Payroll Specialist, Payroll Analyst, Payroll Supervisor, or Payroll Manager background may be considered, depending on the depth of their cross-border payroll experience.
