Warehouse Order Picker

The Order Picker accurately selects and moves products throughout a large warehouse using an RF scanner, push cart, pallet jack, and eventually a forklift. This role focuses on efficient order fulfillment, consistent productivity, and safe material handling in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Use an RF scanner to accurately pick products from warehouse locations according to order requirements.
• Move picked products to the shipping or staging area using a push cart, pallet jack, and, once trained, a forklift.
• Handle a wide variety of products, including cases of water bottles, metal housings for PLCs, and computer or electronic parts.
• Meet and maintain productivity expectations, starting at approximately 100 lines picked per shift and progressing toward 150175 lines per shift as proficiency increases.
• Follow all safety procedures when operating material handling equipment and moving products throughout the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate inventory through careful scanning, picking, and placement of products.
• Support shipping operations by ensuring orders are complete, organized, and ready for dispatch.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding order issues, inventory discrepancies, or equipment needs.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and a positive attitude to support consistent warehouse operations.
• Contribute to a team-oriented environment by assisting coworkers as needed to meet daily goals.

Essential Skills

• Experience with order picking in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to use an RF scanner for picking and inventory-related tasks.
• Ability to operate or willingness to learn to operate a pallet jack and forklift.
• Comfort working with a high volume of SKUs and varied product types.
• Capability to meet performance expectations for lines picked per shift.
• Strong attendance, positive attitude, and clear communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and processes and grow within the role.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and walk for the majority of the shift.

Shifts Available

12:00pm - 8:00pm, Monday - Friday

• Overtime sometimes starting at 10:00am and/or extending until 10:00pm

• The role is based out of a large 125,000 square foot warehouse where you will spend most of your shift walking up and down aisles and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
• You will work with RF scanners, push carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts in a busy, fast-paced distribution setting.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryland Heights, MO.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
