Tax Attorney

A sophisticated law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Tax Attorney to join its transactional practice, with a focus on M&A tax planning and tax mitigation strategies .
The attorney will work closely with business owners and transaction teams, primarily representing sellers in M&A transactions and advising clients on tax-efficient deal structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise clients on tax mitigation strategies related to business transactions
- Handle M&A tax matters , including structuring and planning
- Primarily represent sellers in middle-market transactions
- Collaborate with corporate/M&A attorneys, accountants, and other advisors
- Counsel business owners on tax implications throughout the transaction process
Ideal Background
- Mid-level associate with substantive transactional tax experience
- Strong experience with M&A-related federal tax issues
- Experience advising sellers/business owners is highly preferred
- Strong client-facing and analytical skills
Location
- Charleston, SC or Charlotte, NC preferred
- Open to candidates elsewhere on the East Coast who are willing to travel to Charleston approximately once per month
