Location: Athens, Georgia

We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Gastroenterology Physician for an exciting locum tenens opportunity in Athens, Georgia. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality inpatient and/or outpatient gastroenterology services in a collaborative healthcare environment while maintaining a flexible work schedule.

The ideal candidate is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, performing diagnostic and therapeutic GI procedures, and working alongside a multidisciplinary medical team.

• Flexible locum tenens schedule

• Hospital-based practice

• Inpatient consults and GI procedures

• Opportunity for ongoing assignments

• Collaborative medical staff and support team

• Modern endoscopy suite and EMR system

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage available (if applicable)

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with gastrointestinal disorders

• Perform upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, and other GI procedures

• Manage inpatient consultations

• Respond to emergency GI consults as needed

• Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR

• Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, and primary care physicians

• Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled

• MD or DO degree

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology

• Active Georgia medical license (or ability to obtain)

• DEA certification

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

• Excellent communication and clinical skills

• Hourly Rate: $385 $500 per hour

• 24-Hour Call (if applicable): Approximately $3,700 per shift

• Callback Pay: Up to $475 per hour

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance may be provided depending on the assignment. Compensation varies based on experience, schedule, call responsibilities, and procedural volume.
