Client Services Representative

Apply knowledge of Allied’s products, Certificates of Insurance, computer systems, company procedures, and philosophies to provide service Provide proactive and responsive assistance to agents, insureds, providers, and other outside sources Work in a team atmosphere to solve problems, provide information, and assist with multiple company functions Create person-to-person customer service experiences that provide both requested and needed information Maintain current knowledge of Client Services procedures and guidelines Stay up to date on Claims Processing procedures to answer customer questions Represent Allied positively, professionally, thoroughly, and helpfully Document inbound and outbound calls in Allied’s contact management system Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and faxes and determine appropriate routing or action Ask necessary questions to fully resolve issues and eliminate additional calls Take ownership of contacts and follow through to conclusion when necessary Successfully complete a recognized course in Medical Terminology and pass a proficiency exam Requirements Associate of Arts degree or minimum 2 years of college course work strongly preferred Minimum of 2 years of Customer Service experience in a Call Center is preferred Minimum of 2 years of life & health insurance experience preferred Bilingual is a plus Excellent telephone communication skills, including listening for understanding, responding accurately and professionally, and expressing self clearly and courteously Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology strongly preferred Ability to speak English fluently, read, comprehend, follow and give written and verbal English instructions Intermediate level proficiency with Windows-based systems, including Microsoft Word Ability to compose proper business correspondence and communicate clearly in e-mail responses Ability to meet company attendance requirements and work overtime as necessary Ability to sit or stand for 7.5 hours per day Ability to meet departmental training standards Ability to achieve and maintain department quality and quantity production standards Ability to handle varying workloads, deadlines, difficult callers, and high-volume inbound and outbound contacts Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in Customer Service within a Call Center environment, with a strong understanding of Medical Terminology and life & health insurance.
