Tig Welder

Job Summary

Join our team to apply advanced welding processes in joining sheet metal aircraft components. You will work from written instructions, weld schedules, and drawings, ensuring all completed work meets specified standards. As a team player, you will seek clarification to enhance your welding techniques.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine and some advanced welding tasks using standard practices.
• Properly prepare weld surfaces.
• Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, weld schedules, drawings, and documents.
• Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
• Fit assemblies as required.
• Train others based on prior job experience.
• Repair some of your own parts.
• Regularly evaluate product quality for continuous improvement.
• Work under limited oversight.
• Successfully complete the Exotic Metals TIG weld training program or have equivalent experience.
• Hold multiple basic Exotic Metals weld qualifications/certifications, including Fillet Welding as required.
• Meet or exceed operational standards for efficiency.
• Read and understand router operations, sketches, blueprints, and specifications as necessary.
• Have basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and know where to find this information and ask for help when necessary.
• Move easily to various work areas with experience.
• Use mathematics relevant to welding functions.
• Be familiar with machine tools, precision instruments, and possess good manual dexterity.
• Know when to stop and seek appropriate interpretation when necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a Welding Technology degree.

Working Conditions

Use of protective clothing, goggles, helmets with protective lenses, and other equipment to prevent burns and eye injuries.

Physical Requirements

The role involves physical activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, and handling material.

This position is based in Kent, WA, a city known for its vibrant community and proximity to the beautiful Pacific Northwest landscapes.
