Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity shaping the lives of students with special needs from July 27, 2026, to May 21, 2027. This position offers 37.5 hours per week across two vibrant school settings. You’ll support learners with diverse needs, making a meaningful impact on their educational journey every day.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Georgia Special Education (SPED) teaching license with appropriate endorsements
- ADAPTIVE SPED Certificate required for self-contained, high-needs elementary classroom
- SPED GENERAL CURRICULUM Certificate required for middle school inclusion/resource setting
- Experience teaching students on the autism spectrum, particularly Level 1 (inclusion/resource) and Level 3 (self-contained, high-needs)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Guide and instruct students in self-contained and inclusion/resource settings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals
- Adapt lesson plans and materials to accommodate diverse learning and physical needs
- Utilize innovative strategies and specialized interventions to engage and motivate students
- Track student progress, document growth, and communicate clearly with families and team members
- Collaborate with colleagues to create an inclusive and engaging classroom culture
