Accounting Clerk

Legacy Staffing has partnered witha world-classUniversityin Cleveland, OH to hire an Accounts Payable Accounting Clerk . This is a first-shift opportunity with a pay range of $20-25/hour based on experience and skill level.This role focuses on processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting Accounts Payable operations, and ensuring timely and accurate payments.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment where accuracy and customer service are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and process vendor invoices for payment ina timelyandaccuratemanner.
• Match invoices topurchaseorders and verify pricing, freight charges, tax exemptions, and other financial details.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, missing information, and duplicate payment issues.
• Process vendor payment requests andmaintainaccurateaccounting records.
• Perform general ledger postings and account reconciliations.
• Assistwith financial reporting, bookkeeping activities, and audit requests.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departmentsregardinginvoice and payment inquiries.
• Support the development and maintenance of accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Crosstrainwith team members and provide backup support as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 to 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiencywith Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree inAccountingora relatedfield.
• PreviousAccounts Payable experience.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials.
• Experience with OnBase by Hyland or other document management systems.
• Knowledge of general ledger postings and account reconciliations.
