Geotechnical Engineer Job OpeningGeotechnical Engineer will serve as a subject-matter resource in the analysis, evaluation, construction, and risk assessment of geotechnical and foundations engineering projects. This includes site characterization, analysis and design, construction, risk identification and mitigation, and remediation of subsurface conditions for various geotechnical features such as structure foundations, earth retaining structures, earthworks & mass grading, cut/fill slopes and embankments, among others.The ideal candidate should have practical experience in geotechnical design and construction, and possess a strong background in design, construction, operation, and risk mitigation within complex and mission-critical facilities, rather than office-based on small-type projects or limited exposure. The ideal candidate should also have direct experience with the development of program level guidance and scope of works for site characterization, risk identification, design requirements, shallow and deep foundations, ground improvement, construction specifications, mitigation of problematic ground conditions, and quality control / assurance.Knowledge of large-scale mission-critical facility controls, and monitoring systems is highly desirable.Responsibilities:Serve as an in-house technical resource on all aspects of Geotechnical & Foundations EngineeringProvide exceptional and responsive customer service, manage a complex and dynamic workload, and be proactive in identifying and addressing a customer's needsProvide technical assistance to multiple internal clients on a wide variety of topics in the areas of civil and geotechnical engineeringPrepare and provide various types of documents, including scope of work statements, conceptual schematic designs, design specifications, construction specifications, drawing markups, total cost of ownership analyses, budget estimates, schedules, acceptance documents, and review and acceptance of as-builts and submittalsConduct reviews of and critique geotechnical reports, design memoranda, design solutions, construction drawings, and other relevant project documentsActively assist project teams and provide input pertaining to risks/hazards and possible limitations of the proposed siteProactively identify and collaborate to address gaps in program-level guidance and specificationsRequirements (minimum):Master's degree in Civil/ Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent practical experienceMinimum of 7 years of experience working with mission-critical facilitiesMinimum of 10 years of practical and progressive experience in applying Geotechnical Design and Geotechnical Construction Engineering principles, methods, practices, standards, and/or procedures to evaluate geotechnical engineering features at project delivery levelKnowledgeable of compliance requirements of pertinent codes, regulations, and standardsKnowledgeable of the various types of project delivery processesAbility to generate conceptual schematic drawings, SOW statements, and budget estimatesAbility to travelEverforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
