Lead Cybersecurity Architect - Data

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect formal training or certification plus 5 years of experience in data technologies.
• We need hands-on experience delivering enterprise-grade cybersecurity solutions and controls.
• We look for advanced ability in one or more programming languages, along with strong automation and continuous delivery skills.
• We require broad knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
• We value advanced understanding of agile practices such as continuous integration and delivery, application resilience, and security.
• We need demonstrated proficiency with software applications and technical processes in a technical discipline such as public cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
• We expect practical cloud-native experience and deep familiarity with one or more software applications.
• We need the ability to assess current and emerging technologies and recommend the best path for future-state architecture.
• We require experience communicating effectively with senior business leaders.
• Preferred experience includes data security architecture or security architecture with significant data platform scope, with a record of delivering enterprise-scale controls.
• Strong knowledge of data security principles is preferred, including classification, access controls, encryption, tokenization or masking, DLP, retention, and secure sharing.
• We prefer experience with cloud security architecture for data services and identity and access management patterns such as federation, service identities, least privilege, and ABAC or RBAC.
• We value experience with threat modeling, security design reviews, and risk assessments for complex data flows and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with secure engineering practices and common vulnerabilities such as OWASP as they apply to data APIs and services is preferred.
• Proficiency or strong working knowledge in one or more languages such as Python or Java, plus Infrastructure-as-Code concepts, is preferred.
• Familiarity with security and privacy frameworks or regulations such as NIST, GDPR, or HIPAA where applicable is preferred.
• Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Databricks, Snowflake, or Data Engineering credentials.

• We architect and evaluate data security controls across cloud and hybrid environments, including Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, and GCP, covering storage, compute, analytics, and streaming services.
• We engage technical teams and business stakeholders to discuss and recommend technical approaches that address current and future cybersecurity needs.
• We define the technical target state for our cybersecurity product and drive progress toward that strategy.
• We identify opportunities to remove or automate remediation for recurring issues to strengthen the cybersecurity of software applications and systems.
• We lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to support continuous improvement and review cybersecurity design and technical capabilities for existing systems and architecture.
• We lead communities of practice to raise awareness and adoption of emerging and leading-edge cybersecurity technologies.
