About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: - Minimum of 24 months of current experience in Telemetry, Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care. - Experience caring for patients with ICDs (implantable cardioverter-defibrillators) and Pacemakers is required. - Experience with CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting) and vascular surgical patients is required. - Cardiac Rhythm experience is required. - Level II trauma experience is required; Level I trauma experience is highly preferred. License: - Must have an active Iowa nursing license or a multi-state license at the time of submission. Certifications: - BLS (Basic Life Support) - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Must-Have: - Experience with cardiac drips and titration. - Experience with Alaris IV pump and wound vac. - EPIC electronic medical record experience is required. - A professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager within the last 24 months is preferred. Description: The role involves providing care to patients in a Progressive Care Unit. Patient types include those recovering from cardiac procedures and vascular surgeries. The nurse will monitor patients on various cardiac drips. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:4 during the day and 1:6 at night. The unit has a capacity of 24 beds and utilizes telemetry for patient monitoring. Scrubs must be navy blue and solid in color. The nurse may be required to float to various units as needed. The position requires participating in holiday rotations. Travelers must have completed at least one travel contract within the last 18 months. Candidates should be able to work weekends every fourth weekend.
