Director of Facilities and Operations

Speak with clear articulation.Respectfully submit and be loyal to constituted authority (Titus 3:1)Maintain a personal appearance that serves as a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste, consistent with school policy.Essential Job FunctionsSpiritual LeadershipModel victorious Christian living to students, staff, and families (Philippians 2:1-5)Pray for students, parents, staff, and the entire OCS community (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)Implement positive strategies to develop Christian character in the facilities staffProvide spiritual leadership for Facilities staffAdministrative LeadershipAdheres to all policies and procedures governing the operation of the schoolMaintain an excellent working knowledge of all policies, procedures, and handbooksRespect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about children, parents, or staffAttends and arrives punctually to scheduled devotional, committee, and faculty meetingsMaintains professional dress and appearance as specified in the Employee HandbookRepresents the school favorably and professionally to its constituencyMaintain professional and effective relationships with the administrative teamHire, supervise, and evaluate the performance of Facilities staffParticipate in the Board Building and Grounds Committee meetings and other special meetings as requested by the Board or HeadmasterPrepare an annual facilities budget in coordination with the Headmaster and Director of FinanceFacilities and Groundskeeping LeadershipWork with the Board and Headmaster to create and implement the OCS master planCreate, implement, and maintain a facilities maintenance schedule, including painting and long-term capital expenditures such as HVAC unit replacement, roof replacement, and vehicle replacementWork with the Director of Finance to ensure adequate property insurance coverage and claimOversee the hiring of all facilities contractors (Plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, etc.)Work with the Admin team to maximize facilities useOversee the campus beautification committee to ensure the aesthetic appeal of the OCS campus, including maintenance of signage and brandingWork with building Principals to create efficient and safe carpool routes and proceduresTriage building repairs, determining which can be done in-house and which should be contracted to outside vendorsInspect all maintenance projectsSchedule and oversee all remodel projectsHire and oversee building janitorial service vendorsManage the ordering of janitorial supplies and inventory controlWork with the Board and Administration is the design of new constructionWork with contracted construction manager and contractors to ensure completion of new facilities projectsMaintain blueprints and construction documentsHire and oversee a qualified landscape company to carry out mowing, edging, and other related grounds maintenanceEnsure campus is clean and free of litterOversee irrigation and water wellsOversee maintenance of parking lotsTransportation LeadershipOversee all OCS transportation procedures, including regular vehicle maintenanceMaintain a clean and efficient storage space for all vehiclesDevelop a schedule and procedure for fueling all vehiclesOversee bus schedulingSecurity LeadershipOversee magnetic door locks, security cameras, and conventional door locksManage the school’s SRO and ensure his/her daily scheduleEnsure compliance with federal and state health and safety laws as they pertain to facilitiesWork with the Headmaster to establish emergency management proceduresAdditional Duties or ResponsibilitiesSupport the broader program of the school by attending extracurricular activities when possible.
