TIG Welder We are seeking an experienced TIG Welder to fabricate custom, short-run, prototype equipment for the food industry. This role focuses on precision welding of thin-gauge stainless steel, producing high-quality, food-grade components that meet strict quality and sanitation standards. Key Responsibilities Perform TIG (GTAW/Heliarc) welding on thin stainless steel components. Support fabrication projects using MIG (GMAW) and wire-feed welding processes as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T specifications. Set up, fixture, and weld complex assemblies to precise tolerances. Configure and operate GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding equipment. Inspect welds and finished assemblies to ensure quality, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with specifications. Use hand tools and measuring instruments to verify fit, finish, and tolerances. Maintain food-grade weld quality standards, including cleanliness and smooth finishes. Perform repairs and adjustments as needed to meet quality requirements. Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a positive team environment. Required Qualifications 7+ years of professional welding experience. Advanced TIG welding experience, particularly with thin-gauge stainless steel. Proficiency with MIG welding and wire-feed processes. Experience producing food-grade or sanitary stainless steel weldments. Ability to read blueprints, fabrication drawings, and GD&T specifications. Strong measuring, layout, and mathematical skills. Experience with fixturing, fitting, and assembly setup. Proficiency using welding equipment, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments. ASME Section IX and/or AWS D1.1 welding certifications are preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a custom fabrication or prototype manufacturing environment. Experience building equipment or components for the food processing industry. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ramsey, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $36.00/hr.
