Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care for adult Med Surg patients, including post-operative and general medical/surgical cases
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status, vital signs, and response to treatment; respond quickly to changes in condition
• Administer prescribed medications and therapies; manage IV pumps and use NG/tube feeding devices as required
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust care plans; coordinate with physicians, case management, and ancillary staff
• Maintain patient safety and comfort, implement fall and infection prevention precautions, and educate patients and families as appropriate
• Document thoroughly in the electronic medical record (Epic), including care plans, progress notes, and DISCHARGE planning; adhere to unit policies and procedures
• Float to other Med Surg units as needed to balance patient load and staffing

Requirements

• Active New York RN license; Nursys verification required; all active RN licenses must be verifiable
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• 2+ years of Med Surg experience (adult population); travel experience requiredEMR experience with Epic
• Ability to float to other Med Surg units as needed
• Driver’s license with address match to demographics
• RTO (requested time off) must be included at time of submission
• Education: RN licensure in New York
