Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Golang to design, build, and scale highperformance backend and midtier services. The role focuses on developing cloudnative, APIdriven platforms using Golang as the primary language, complemented by Java and Python for multiservice ecosystems. This engineer will play a key role in enabling performant, resilient systems while collaborating closely with product, frontend, and platform teams in an agile environment. Shape Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend and midtier services using Golang as the primary language. Build scalable, secure, and highthroughput RESTful and eventdriven APIs for enterprise platforms. Contribute to backend services written in Java and Python, supporting interoperability across systems. Develop microservices and middleware components that enable seamless integration across internal and external systems. Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver endtoend solutions. Ensure high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, performance tuning, and observability. Participate in system design discussions, contributing to architecture, scalability, and resilience decisions. Support cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations with a strong ownership mindset. Shape Required Skills & Experience 6-10+ years of backend or platform engineering experience in enterprise or productdriven environments. Strong handson expertise in Golang, with realworld experience building productiongrade services. Solid experience with Java and/or Python for backend or midtier development. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and API design. Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB). Handson exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices. Strong problemsolving skills, communication, and ability to work across teams and geographies. Shape NicetoHave Skills Experience building highthroughput or lowlatency systems using Golang. Knowledge of event streaming and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub). Experience with service mesh, API gateways, and observability tools. Exposure to security best practices, authentication, and authorization patterns. Prior experience in productled, hypergrowth, or platform modernization programs. Familiarity with frontend integrations or BFF (BackendforFrontend) patterns. Shape Impact & Value Enable scalable, reliable backend platforms that power critical business services.
