Job ID: 1139834 Location: Barnabas Health Medical Group, New Jersey Position: Physician Assistant (Surgical APP) Shift: Day Pay range: $107,000 - $170,000 per year (based on educational background, experience, etc.) Job Overview The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an independent health care provider who coordinates care through collaboration with the surgeon. The APP provides care in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee. The main function of this role is to provide consistent, high-quality perioperative/postoperative care for all surgery patients. The APP will be expected to function as an active member of the surgery patient care team. Responsibilities Surgical first assisting Perioperative/postoperative management Work to the full extent of licensure with emphasis on supervised autonomy Essential Functions Communicate complicated surgical emergencies and preparation for surgery Perform wound dressing changes Thoroughly explain procedures to patients Interpret laboratory/diagnostic testing appropriately Demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication, and time management Perform duties independently and coordinate care with bedside nurse, attending physician, and other consulting providers Compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care Qualifications Required Qualifications: Current PA Certification Current NJ state license CDS DEA Current BLS/ACLS Current Physician Assistant Certification Preferred Qualifications: Acute care certification 3-5 years of acute care hospital experience Scheduling Requirements 3x12 hour night shifts On-call rotation #J-18808-Ljbffr RWJBarnabas Health
