Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Human Resources for a fast-growing, multi-state home healthcare organization. This is an onsite role based in Niles, Illinois.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director of Human Resources is a senior leader responsible for overseeing HR strategy, compliance, and employee relations across a multi-state healthcare organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership to ensure a compliant, high-performing, and engaged workforce. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in employment law, HR operations, and organizational development within a regulated environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational growth and multi-state compliance requirements
- Serve as a key advisor to leadership on employee relations, workforce planning, and risk mitigation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all locations
- Oversee performance management, employee relations, and leadership development initiatives
- Manage compensation, benefits, and HR operations to ensure equity, scalability, and compliance
- Lead and develop the HR team while promoting a culture of accountability and engagement
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience leading HR functions in multi-state, highly regulated environments (home healthcare preferred)
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, and risk management
- Proven ability to build and improve HR systems, policies, and processes
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This position offers a salary range of $110,000–$135,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
