We advise organizations on employment law compliance and conduct independent workplace investigations involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, misconduct, and other sensitive personnel issues. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Investigative Paralegal to work directly with our attorneys on workplace investigations and employment law matters. This is not a traditional litigation support role. The position combines legal analysis, factual investigation, writing, project management, and legal operations. You will contribute directly to attorney work product, manage complex matters from beginning to end, and help develop the systems that support a growing practice. The work requires excellent judgment, exceptional organization, and a genuine interest in improving how legal services are delivered. Responsibilities Workplace Investigations Support attorneys throughout all phases of independent workplace investigations Organize and manage investigation files, evidence, document productions, and exhibits Prepare chronologies, witness summaries, interview outlines, and investigative materials Coordinate witness interviews and related logistics Draft, edit, and proofread investigation reports, correspondence, and supporting documents Conduct factual and legal research to support investigative findings Support attorneys advising employers on California and federal employment law Research legal questions and prepare concise written analyses Draft policies, client guidance, compliance materials, and other employment-related documents Assist in managing active client matters and ongoing communications Practice Operations Manage matters within Clio, including deadlines, task tracking, and file organization Develop templates, workflows, and internal resources that improve efficiency and consistency Identify opportunities to strengthen firm operations and client service Assist with billing, timekeeping, and matter administration Who You Are The strongest candidates will possess excellent writing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously. You are comfortable working independently, take ownership of your work, and communicate proactively when issues arise. You enjoy solving operational problems, embrace technology, and appreciate that well-designed systems are essential to excellent client service. You understand that workplace investigations require discretion, objectivity, and professionalism. You recognize that every document, timeline, and summary contributes to important employment decisions and approach your work accordingly. Qualifications Required Five to seven years of paralegal experience Experience in employment law, workplace investigations, human resources, or a related practice area strongly preferred Outstanding legal writing, editing, and proofreading skills Strong organizational and project management abilities Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive Experience with Clio or comparable matter management software Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy Preferred Experience supporting workplace investigations Familiarity with California employment law Experience preparing investigative reports, witness summaries, or employment-related legal documents Interest in legal technology and AI-enabled productivity tools Salary: $80,000–$95,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
