About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified CVOR RN in Wausau, Wisconsin, 54401!

• Assist anesthesia providers across a variety of surgical specialties, with a primary focus on the cardiothoracic program, including heart surgeries, traumas, elective surgeries, and general surgeries.
• Perform and support anesthesia-related tasks including assisting with intubations, fiber optic scopes, placement of arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and Swan-Ganz catheters using strict sterile technique .
• Operate and manage specialized equipment including Cell Saver , Belmont , and Level I fluid warmers; start IVs, draw labs, and set up medication pumps.
• Circulate in a high-volume OR environment; expected assignment of 4-5 rooms per day across 21 OR suites covering all specialties.
• Maintain compliance with all facility health and safety policies, including applicable infection control and vaccination requirements.
• Participate in a 2-week orientation process, including training for additional anesthesia skills as needed; perform downtime tasks as required.

• Active Wisconsin RN License or valid Compact RN License required.
• AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (diploma verifying degree level must be provided).
• Minimum 3+ years of CVOR experience with anesthesia experience required; candidates with ICU or ER RN backgrounds and no OR experience, or CVOR RNs, will be considered.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.

• Prior experience with conscious sedation.
• Strong critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to manage change and adapt in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Broad knowledge of all OR case types across multiple surgical specialties.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative and team-oriented work style.
