About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified CVOR RN in Wausau, Wisconsin, 54401!

• Assist anesthesia providers across a variety of surgical specialties, with a primary focus on the cardiothoracic program, including heart surgeries, traumas, elective surgeries, and general surgeries
• Perform and support anesthesia-related tasks including assisting with intubations, fiber optic scopes, placement of arterial lines, central lines, lumbar drains, and Swan Ganz catheters using sterile technique
• Operate and manage specialized equipment including Cell Saver, Belmont, and Level I fluid warmers; start IVs, draw labs, and set up medication pumps
• Circulate in a high-volume OR environment with 4-5 rooms assigned per day across 21 operating rooms covering all specialties
• Participate in on-call rotation: expected schedule includes 1 night of call per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup call per week; additional call may occasionally be required - 30-minute response time to the OR is required; a personal vehicle is required for this position
• Maintain flexibility for downtime tasks as needed and adhere to all facility health and safety policies, including applicable masking requirements during flu season

• Active Wisconsin RN license or a compact RN license required
• AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required (diploma verifying degree level required)
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience with anesthesia experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required; experience with Cell Saver and Belmont required

• Strong CVOR circulating experience
• Prior experience with conscious sedation
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills with a strong knowledge base across all OR case types
• Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable managing change in a fast-paced surgical environment

• Gain exposure to a broad range of surgical specialties within a high-volume OR environment featuring 21 operating rooms and a dedicated cardiothoracic program
• A 2-week orientation process is provided, including training for additional anesthesia skills as needed, along with facility-provided scrub attire
