Assistant Technical Designer

Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client an Assistant Technical Designer based in Los Angeles, CA . A background check may be run only after a conditional offer is made, where permitted by law . Position: Assistant Technical Designer Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: $55,000 Position Overview The Assistant Technical Designer will support the technical design team in ensuring accurate garment specifications and fit across multiple apparel categories. This role collaborates closely with product development and cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards and timely execution of seasonal collections. The position requires strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage technical documentation and sample tracking. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Assist with technical design responsibilities across multiple apparel categories, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Support the creation and maintenance of tech packs and garment specifications for development and production. Review samples and help track revisions throughout the development process to maintain quality standards. Measure garments and assist with fit sessions to ensure proper fit and construction. Communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are developed accurately and on schedule. Organize technical files, development materials, and seasonal documentation for easy accessibility. Provide day-to-day support to the Product Development and Technical Design teams as needed. Required Experience/Skills Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field. Internship or entry-level experience in technical design. Knowledge of garment construction, fit, and apparel development processes. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Eagerness to learn and thrive in a collaborative, hands‑on environment. Preferred Experience/Skills Internship experience working with contemporary or premium apparel brands. Experience supporting multiple product categories. Ability to adapt in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related discipline. Coursework in apparel construction and patternmaking is highly desirable. Training in garment fit evaluation and technical specifications preferred. Familiarity with industry‑standard software for technical design. Continuing education or certifications in apparel development is a plus.
