About Us
Boucherie, the French bistro and steakhouse from The Group Hospitality, is opening on the Upper West Side. We're building our opening culinary team and looking for Prep Cooks who are organized, efficient, and eager to learn. The Role
The Prep Cook supports the kitchen in preparing and presenting every dish.
What You'll Do
- Follow the daily prep list assigned by the Chef on Duty
- Wash, peel, and chop produce, and prepare ingredients for cooking
- Clean and cut or grind meat, fish, poultry, and shellfish
- Do basic cooking tasks such as stirring, straining, parboiling, and reducing sauces
- Measure seasonings, condiments, and ingredients to recipe and yield guides
- Flag any sub-par product to the Chef on Duty before service
- Store product at proper temperatures and follow rotation procedures per DOH regulations
- Complete opening and closing checklists thoroughly
- Maintain Department of Health sanitation standards and report any safety concerns to the Chef on Duty right away
- Support your teammates wherever needed What We're Looking For
- 1+ year of prep cook experience in a similar-caliber restaurant
- NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene Food Protection Certificate
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Able to lift 30+ lbs and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear communication in English and basic math skills
