Job Description
- Measure vital signs like blood pressure and pulse.
- Record patient medical history.
- Prep patients and rooms for exams.
- Give injections or vaccines as directed by a doctor.
- Draw blood or collect lab samples.
- Perform basic tests like EKGs. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Administrative Tasks
- Greet patients and check them in.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Answer phone calls and messages.
- Update electronic health records.
- Handle insurance forms and billing. [1, 2, 3]
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
