PATIENT SERVICES LEAD (FULL TIME)

Location: Novant Health Huntersville Medical Center, 10030 Gilead Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. Compensation: $20.00 per hour. Schedule: Full‑time, 12‑hour shifts (6:45 a.m.–6:45 p.m.), rotating weekends. Requirements: Previous supervisory experience required; food service or customer service experience preferred. Job Summary Patient Services Leads coordinate patient meal service and special requests, ensuring Patient Dining Associates are trained and units are properly staffed. They play a vital role in creating a culture of comfort and compassion within the healthcare environment, addressing patients’ dietary needs and special requests. Responsibilities Oversee systems and processes to achieve the strategic and operational objectives of the Patient Dining Program. Supervise Patient Dining Associates, ensuring they assist patients with menu selections, assembly, and delivery of meal trays. Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to develop menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, dietary sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences. Work with nursing staff to evaluate and monitor patient meal selections, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval processes on a daily basis. Respond promptly to patients’ needs, communicating issues or concerns to appropriate personnel following department procedures. Assist dietitians in monitoring patients who cannot eat orally, are on liquid diets, or require specific calorie counts. Adhere to confidentiality and patient rights policies as outlined in HIPAA regulations. Comply with federal, state, and JCAHO regulatory standards. Implement Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for meal assembly and distribution. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, as well as department sanitation procedures. Complete all required daily, weekly, and monthly reports in accordance with Morrison Healthcare policies. Conduct daily associate team meetings using Morrison’s branded GR8 Start Meeting guidelines and template. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to communicate and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and operation instructions. Proficiency with the hospital’s Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) system and other computer‑based systems managing patient care records. Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts; reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with disabilities.
