HVC APP Supervisor

Description

TheHeartandVascularAPPSupervisorprovidesleadershiptoAPPswithinthedepartmentandcollaborates with the cardiology and cardiac surgery faculty APP Manager and lead APPs. The primary managerial responsibility of the supervisor is to provide professional support to the Heart and Vascular APPs at Parnassus and Stanyan Lead APPs so there isalignment with the Heart and Vascular Center and UCSF Health The primary clinical responsibility is to provide clinical services cardiology or cardiac surgery inpatients.

UCSF Health requires all advanced health professionals to be credentialed through the Office of Medical Affairsand Governance to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to HVC APPs in the inpatient clinical setting at all UCSF Health sites. Credentialing and approval of standardized procedures takes between 90-120 days and must be completed prior to the first working day .

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

• Aminimumof2yearsprogressiveresponsibilityofrelatedhealthcareleadership.
• 4-6 years of recent experience as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in CVICU Care
• Competent to direct patient management and lead care team
• Demonstratedabilitytoeffectivelysuperviseateamandtomanagethecomplexworkflowand competing priorities involved with providing quality care as an Advanced Practitioner.
• Solid knowledge of the clinical and operational issues for APPs performing advanced-practice care including evaluation testing diagnosis and treatment as well as patient-care concepts policies outcomes measurement quality standards ethics issues quality improvement while continuing staff education and professional development
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly analyze problems determine appropriate level of intervention and develop and apply effective solutions.
• Stronginterpersonalskillsforeffectivecollaborationandproblemsolvingwithalllevelsof management and staff with ability to understand issues from different perspectives.
• Strongwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillswiththeabilitytotrainandmentor subordinates convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner and prepare and present project proposals and educational opportunities for the staff.
• Demonstrated knowledge of state and national regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of human resources management policies with the ability to train monitor evaluateanddocumentstaffissuesandperformanceandtoparticipateindecision-makingon human resources matters.
• Indepthknowledgeofpatientcareclinicalstandardssystemsexternalregulationsand internal policies.
• Demonstratedleadershipskillstoeffectivelysupervisecliniciansmanagecomplexworkflow and multiple priorities.
• Knowledgeofbusinesssoftwarespecializedapplicationsanddatamanagementsystemsused in clinical departments.
