Receptionist

Position Description

DNA Learning Center Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned scientific research organization located on the North Shore of Long Island, is seeking a part-time Receptionist to join a small administrative team at the Dolan DNA Learning Center.

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Answering phones
• Meeting and greeting teachers, students, and visitors
• Creating purchasing requisitions and work orders
• Handling registrations, data entry and filing
• Invoicing and collecting money from schools/organizations
• Distributing department mail
• Assisting with emailing campaigns and other administrative projects
• Managing staff calendars

Position Requirements

EDUCATION: Associate's degree or equivalent experience SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Two years secretarial/administrative experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail is imperative.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook & Excel.
