About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of preserving, restoring, and reimagining a significant cross-border meeting place. The successful candidate will be a strategic, culturally fluent, and politically savvy leader, responsible for advancing the organization's vision of a fully accessible space that embodies peace, cultural exchange, and shared humanity. This role involves balancing vision with execution, engaging diverse stakeholders, and serving as the primary spokesperson to raise awareness and shape the public narrative. The Executive Director will also be tasked with leading fundraising efforts, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring the organization's work reflects and elevates the voices of border communities. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a history of increasing responsibility in nonprofit leadership, with a preference for experience in grassroots or advocacy organizations focused on human rights, immigration, border culture, or environmental issues. The role requires a deep understanding of the cultural, historical, and political dynamics of the U.S.-Mexico border region, as well as a commitment to equity, inclusion, and the values of the organization. Essential skills include exceptional relationship-building, communication, and strategic thinking, as well as proven experience in fundraising and financial stewardship. The ideal candidate will be an engaging, values-centered leader with a passion for the complex issues at the intersection of immigration, generational trauma, and grassroots organizing. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, and the role demands a willingness to work across the border and engage with diverse communities.
