About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for its Underwriting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the evaluation of prospective affordable housing investments within the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. This role involves a comprehensive range of activities, including financial, credit, market, and risk analysis, as well as the identification of investment risks and the development of mitigation strategies. The Vice President will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, manage a portfolio of transactions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting practices. Key responsibilities include preparing underwriting memoranda, presenting investment recommendations, and supporting the development of underwriting standards and best practices. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of eight years' experience in multifamily real estate, affordable housing, LIHTC syndication, commercial real estate lending, or real estate investment analysis. The role requires a strong understanding of affordable housing finance, LIHTC regulations, and multifamily development. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel is essential, as is the ability to communicate complex analysis effectively and to manage multiple priorities. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, and possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Approximately 10% travel is expected, and the role demands a high level of ethics, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
