Schedule: Monday-Friday 12pm-8:30pm & 2:30pm-11:00pm as needed & mandatory every other Saturday from 7:30am-4:00pm

Summary:

• MRI Technologist interprets a physicians script / order, explains procedure to patients, select software options and imaging parameters whenadjusting an MRI machine. Views images from a work station and post processes procedure and sends to PACS for Radiologist interpration. Thetechnologist will assist patients to the MRI suite, position patients on the table for their imaging.

Responsibilities:

• ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Ensures safety by screening all patient's, staff and visitors prior to coming in contact with the powerful magnetic field of an MRI scanner.
• 1. Explain procedures, answer patient's questions as fully as possible and provide emotional support.
• 1. Position patients and coils on the table that slides inside the MRI scanner.
• 1. Recognize and respond to life threatening situations.
• 1. Routinely check scanners and related equipment.
• 1. Follow all safety procedures for self, patients and machinery.
• 1. Must be able to communicate effectively with patient prior and during exam.
• 1. On-call Responsibilities.

• OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Assures appropriate patient screening prior to MRI exam.
• 1. Assures all screening forms are completed prior to patient entering MRI room.
• 1. Checks any contraindications with a radiologist prior to MRI exam.
• 1. Prepares room, equipment, and materials as needed.
• 1. Prepares patient for MRI scans, explains procedures, transfers patient to table, positions and assists patient at end of procedure.
• 1. Consistently demonstrates competence in performing MRI procedures.
• 1. Observes patient and equipment during procedure, reports unusual occurrences and records patient's condition.
• 1. Follows all safety instructions provided in policy manual and safety manual provided by Marconi Medical Systems.
• 1. Contacts supervisor of section and service engineer immediately when there is any question referring to malfunction of system.
• 1. Provides appropriate imaging quality using the approved protocols under the direction of a radiologist.
• 1. Maintains professional, courteous and cooperative manner with patients, co-workers, and public.
• 1. Follows procedures for clerical and administrative tasks related to job.
• 1. Exercises initiative as appropriate in performance of duties.
• 1. Demonstrates a working knowledge of QCPR and Isite Systems and completes documentation of exams.
• 1. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
• 1. Demonstrates growth in MRI field. Attends appropriate continuing education programs to maintain/develop skills and knowledge.
• 1. Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department.

Credentials:

• Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)

• Radiologic Technologist

Education or Equivalent Experience:

• Other

• Education Specialization:Graduate from an approved and accredited School of Radiology.Equivalent Experience:•And MRI experience.

Salary Range:

$36.56 - $58.30/Hourly
