Electrical EstimatorThe Electrical Estimator is responsible for evaluating project requirements and preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction and installation projects. This individual will analyze RFQs, drawings, and specifications, and work closely with Project Managers, Foremen, clients, and vendors to ensure quotes are completed thoroughly and submitted on time.Key responsibilities include:Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and RFQs to fully understand project scopeIdentify and quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor needsDevelop detailed electrical estimates, including conduit, wiring, controls, panels, and terminationsPrepare labor estimates based on NEC, manpower productivity rates, and site conditionsMaintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricingEvaluate vendor bids and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and competitivenessUse estimating software and tools to develop and present detailed cost proposalsCollaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders to clarify scope and budgetTrack actual project costs for use in future estimates and job cost analysisQualifications include:Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry standardsProficiency in mathematics, data analysis, and cost estimation methodsAbility to read and interpret electrical blueprints, plans, and technical documentsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills5–7 years of field experience in commercial or industrial electrical work3–5 years of experience in electrical estimatingExperience with estimating software, Microsoft Office, and CAD toolsCollege education not required—technical training or apprenticeships a plus
