Quality Control Manager

Security Clearance: Active SECRET Clearance Required Position Status: Pending Contract Award Position Overview: Check Defense isa fast-growing federal contractor seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager (QCM) to lead and administer the Quality Control Program supporting a U.S. Army Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Training, Maintenance, Logistics, and Mission Support Services contract. The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and continuously improving the Quality Control Plan (QCP) to ensure consistent achievement of all contractual requirements, performance objectives, and customer expectations. The successful candidate will serve as the principal authority for contract quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements, Army regulations, aviation maintenance standards, safety protocols, and company policies. This individual will work closely with Government representatives, program leadership, maintenance personnel, instructors, logistics staff, and functional managers to promote a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Duties and responsibilities: Develop, implement, administer, and maintain the contract Quality Control Plan (QCP). Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality-related matters involving Government customers and company leadership. Establish quality objectives, inspection criteria, performance standards, and compliance procedures. Ensure contract performance consistently meets or exceeds all performance metrics and service level requirements. Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the organization. Plan, coordinate, and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections of contract operations. Evaluate training, maintenance, logistics, supply, administration, and support activities for compliance with contractual requirements. Verify work performance, process effectiveness, documentation accuracy, and adherence to established procedures. Ensure inspection results are documented, tracked, and reported in accordance with contract requirements. Monitor compliance with applicable Army regulations, safety standards, technical manuals, standard operating procedures, and company policies. Investigate quality deficiencies, process failures, customer concerns, and recurring performance issues. Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans. Maintain records of inspections, audits, corrective actions, and quality performance metrics. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational performance. Required Qualifications Must be a U.S. citizen Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one. Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Business Administration, Aviation Management, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of quality control, quality assurance, or compliance management experience supporting government, military, aviation, maintenance, or logistics operations. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience leading quality programs or inspection teams. Experience developing and administering quality control programs and inspection processes. Demonstrated experience conducting audits, inspections, and performance evaluations. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, process improvement methodologies, and performance metrics. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Army Aviation, TRADOC, USAACE, or UAS programs. Experience supporting aviation maintenance, flight operations, logistics, training, or mission support contracts. Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE). ASQ Quality Auditor (CQA) Certification. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification. Experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. Familiarity with Army quality assurance and aviation maintenance inspection programs. Prior military aviation, UAS, maintenance, or logistics experience. Physical Requirements Ability to work in office, classroom, warehouse, maintenance, and flight line environments. Ability to conduct inspections in indoor and outdoor operational areas. Ability to walk, stand, climb, and inspect facilities and equipment for extended periods. Ability to travel occasionally in support of contract requirements.
