Materials Handling and Production Associate
Location: Ashland, VA
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Day Shift
Position Type: Full-time, long-term opportunity
A day in this roleYou arrive for the day shift, review the build list, and get your tools ready. Throughout the day, you rotate between indoor and outdoor tasks: staging materials, assisting with machine loading and unloading, and putting components together exactly to spec. When a product needs to come apart for rework, you disassemble it carefully, measure and cut new pieces, and keep materials moving to the next station. You wrap up by clearing the work area and checking that everything is safe and ready for tomorrow.
What you will do- Assemble and disassemble materials and components to specification.
- Load and unload materials, products, and equipment from containers and machines.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Cut, measure, and prepare materials for production and assembly.
- Support machine operations, including loading and unloading.
- Move materials throughout the facility and on the worksite as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow safety procedures and operational guidelines at all times.
- Take on additional general labor and production tasks as assigned.
- Experience in general labor, manufacturing, construction, production, or warehouse work.
- Proven ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Comfort working indoors and outdoors in changing weather.
- Reliability, strong work ethic, and a safety-first mindset.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or with a team.
- Stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the full shift.
- Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Push or pull materials that may exceed 50 pounds.
- Work successfully in a physically demanding environment.
